A 14-week-old baby girl is recovering after being rushed to King's College Hospital in London by air ambulance yesterday.
Phoebe Chittenden had lost consciousness in the cafe at Tides Leisure Centre in Deal at about 11am. According to her mother, Gemma Jones, 20, she had a swim in the pool 10 minutes previously.
Phoebe and her mother Gemma Jones, 20, were together at the time.
Miss Jones accompanied her daughter in the helicopter to hospital in London. She said today that Phoebe was making a good recovery.
Father Shaun Chittenden, also 20, said the incident had been very worrying. It is not yet known how the girl lost consciousness.
Kalvin Clapson, head of business and community development at Tides, said: "There was no first aid needed.
"She was breathing, but shallowly. Staff took her to the first aid room.
"This was not a pool-related incident. The child was in the cafe area."
