Betteshanger Bowling Club through to national last 16

Betteshanger's under-25 double rink are through to the last 16 of the nationals after a comfortable victory over Falaise.

The home rink of Sean Green, Joe Abercrombie, Paul Woolford and Joe Kelly lost a tight encounter 16-14 but the away rink of Scott Whiting, Simon Fox, Chris Fox and Kieran Moss won 29-10 to put Betteshanger into the next round where they face Swale.

Meanwhile, Betteshanger’s fine start to the Kent League season continued with a one-sided victory at Tunbridge Wells.

The team returned with nine and a half points from the maximum 10 with Betteshanger’s top rink of Alan Griffiths, Martin Philips, Sean Green and Paul Hubbard, winning 34-15.

The win gives Betteshanger an impressive return of six wins from six games and sees them 15 points behind leaders Folkestone with three games in hand.
