Police have launched an investigation after a man from the Dover area failed to return from a trip to Tenerife.

Peter Henley, 50, flew out to Tenerife on December 6 and stayed in hotels in the resorts of Puerto de Santiago and Puerto de la Cruz.

He had booked further nights at a hotel in Costa De Silencio but failed to check-in.

Peter was due to fly back to England on December 18, but failed to return and his family is very concerned for his welfare.

PC Feebs Sparks, Missing Person Liaison Officer said: "We are liaising with INTERPOL to ask for help from the authorities in Tenerife to carry out enquiries there.

"We are also doing all we can to help Peter’s family who are understandably extremely concerned, and to raise awareness with media appeals and posters."

Mr Henley is described as a white man of slim build, 5ft 10in tall, with short, straight grey hair, clean shaven with a fresh complexion and blue eyes.

Anyone who has seen Mr Henley or knows of his whereabouts is asked to contact the police on 101 (from Kent) or 0044 1622 690690 from outside of the UK.
