A leading councillor is facing ridicule after making an embarrassing error on a leaflet outlining his bid for re-election.
Conservative Trevor Bond has been mocked by voters and opponents over the blunder which saw part of the template go unchanged on the pamphlet setting out his party's aims for Deal.
The top of the flyer reads "our plan for area name" omitting the town's name on the publication material in the lead up to the upcoming local elections in May.
The poster sets out the Tories' plans for recycling rates, recreation facilities, healthcare and flooding.
But residents were shocked at the "careless" mistake that has been made by Cllr Bond, who currently represents the Middle Deal ward at Dover District Council where he is also cabinet member for planning.
One person commented: "That is shockingly careless."
While another person quipped: "I guess the proof reader for what I assume is a campaign leaflet doesn’t vote Tory. Brilliant if deliberate."
The Labour leader of the opposition at Dover District Council, Kevin Mills told KentOnline it was a "stupid mistake".
"It obviously wasn't very well proof read," he said.
"The bottom line is this is Dover district. Everywhere in the district is equally important and people need to know who we represent.
"He should know better and it was a stupid mistake for him to make.
The mocking did not end there as people began to question Cllr Bond on social media.
"Trevor doesn't even know where he is. Gotta say my faith in Trevor is very low," another added.
Residents will be casting their votes in the local elections on May 4.
Ten borough and district councils in Kent are holding full elections and all but two are currently Conservative controlled.
Cllr Bond has been a district councillor since 2007 and has been in office for Deal Town Council since 2015 and was elected to Kent County Council in 2017.
He has been approached for a comment.
