60 year stage and film career celebrated on stage

By: Beth Robson

Published: 00:01, 18 October 2013

Honor Blackman will talk about her TV and film career spanning 60 years at the Astor tonight at 7.30pm.

Honor has decided to mark this astonishing achievement by launching a new show in which she simply appears – as herself.

In conversation with director Richard Digby Day, she tells stories of her childhood, of growing up during the Second World War, of her rise to stardom, her leather-clad triumph in television’s The Avengers, and her casting as Pussy Galore in the James Bond movie Goldfinger – a role which brought her world-wide fame and recognition. She will also share with audiences, for the first time, anecdotes concerning family, friends and colleagues; and tell of the necessity to rebuff producers eager to make her a star - at a price - and difficulties filming nude scenes both hilarious and otherwise and, of course, there will be some songs.

Tickets £15, £12 concessions.

Book tickets or to read the full programme, visit www.theastor.org.uk or call in at the Astor Theatre at Stanhope Road, Deal. Telephone 01304 370220.
