Deal manager Derek Hares has warned that no club can ignore the prize money on offer in both the FA Cup and FA Vase.
After watching the club pick up £1,500 from Saturday’s FA Cup, preliminary round defeat of Ringmer, Hares immediately turned his attention to this weekend’s FA Vase, first round qualifier away to the same opponents - and the chance to win more money.
As financial constraints grip so many clubs, Hares (right) believes the scramble for FA cash is growing more intense.
Deal’s defeat of Ringmer earned them another home draw, this time against Sussex club Selsey, with the prospect of £3,000 for the winners.
Hares said: "For a club like Deal, you are talking big, big money. That kind of money you can’t budget for.
"We’ve enjoyed the luck of the draw with the home games, now we want to make the most of it.
"If we continue to advance, you never know, we might draw Dover."
Striker Mo Takaloo, who came off with an ankle injury against Ringmer, is expected to be fit for Saturday’s FA Vase return meeting.
But long-term injury casualties Leon Ingram and Shane Suter remain out of contention although midfielder Aaron Robinson has an outside chance of being fit.
