The family of a Deal man who died in a motorcycle crash have paid tribute to a "warm-hearted, devoted" husband.

Police believe RAF veteran David Frampton, 36, was involved in a smash with an oncoming car.

His sister Sarah Frampton, of The Strand, Walmer, said: "He was a courageous, warm-hearted, devoted man who truly touched the lives of all he met."

His parents, Carol and Alan Frampton, also of The Strand, moved to Deal in 1987 with their three children, Sarah, David and Vicky.

Mr Frampton attended Methodist Junior School before it merged with Sandown Primary School, then attended Sandwich Technology School, where he was deputy head boy.

His sister Sarah, 33, added: "He made good friends here.

"He came back many times to see his friends from school. It's been really touching to see the amount of love for him."

He studied A-levels at Dane Court Grammar School, in Broadstairs, and completed a degree in life science and psychology at Southampton University.

Mr Frampton also worked in security at Pfizer, in Sandwich, before spending nine years serving in the Royal Air Force Regiment on 2, 27 and 58 squadrons in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Ms Frampton said: "He was very highly regarded and received international commendation for his work in the protection of our servicemen and women.

"Upon leaving the RAF he dreamt of becoming a teacher and had obtained his first post supporting children with special needs.

"He married Stella, whom he had first met as a teenager, last year. David had a huge range of interests and was phenomenally well read. He loved his motorbikes and playing golf. His loss is indescribable."

The crash happened at about 4pm on Wednesday last week when an Audi A3 car crashed with his silver Honda VFR 1200cc bike on the A666 Blackburn to Bolton Road.

It is believed the two occupants of the other car were treated for whiplash, shock and minor cuts.

The funeral will be held at East Lancashire Crematorium, Manchester.
