A one-day charity festival will be held at Deal's Hole in the Roof pub on Sunday, August 24.

The afternoon and evening event titled Rock the Pink will raise money for the Mercury’s charity of the year, Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

The pub has already kick started the fundraising with a £150 donation, plus the gift of a meal for two and bottle of champagne towards the raffle.

Headlining the event is seven-piece band Caution Horses, who like all the other artists are giving their time and talent for free, in support of the UK’s leading charity dedicated to stopping women getting and dying from breast cancer.

Also featured on the line up is covers band The Regulars Band, Amy Winehouse tribute artist Ellie Winehouse, duet Griffamy, soloist Dave Robson and classic rock band Blindside.

The sound system has been provided by Phatta Sound solutions owned by Joe Dawson of Canterbury. Gareth Hopkins from Invicta Sounds will supply the late night disco from 11pm until 2am.

On top of the music, shot girls Yasmin Rubins and Beth Lennon will be selling shots for £2, with half of the money going to charity and there will be a raffle with prizes including a tribal nations cosmetic tattoo voucher, a hair dressing voucher and a night of camping at Kingsdown International Camping Centre.

Hole in the Roof events organiser Loz Regan said: “We chose to support Breakthrough Breast Cancer because it is a really worthwhile charity and it’s such a big deal in this town.”

Ambassador Kerry Rubins added: “We’re really excited about it. We just want everybody to come down to the Hole in the Roof and help us pink it out!”
