The Discovery Park in Sandwich is experiencing a surge in tenants with 77 businesses now on site.

The science and technology park, based at the former Pfizer site on Ramsgate Road has added an occupational health and safety specialist to its list.

As a result of its recent £6 million funding boost by the government the 220 acre site is expected to create 3,000 new jobs by 2017.

The money will go towards refurbishing three empty buildings so more companies and particularly large overseas companies can utilise them and hopefully sign up to the park.

KB Occupational Health Services is run by husband and wife directors Kim and Stephen Boggins, they specialise in sickness absence management, health surveillance and general wellbeing in the work place.

It celebrates its 15th year in business this year by making the move to the Discovery Park.

Mrs Boggins, who worked at the Pfizer site before the development of the park, has a wealth of knowledge and experience from working as an intensive care nurse for the NHS and as an educator in prison health for HM Prison Service.

She said: “We are very pleased to be celebrating our 15th year in business by moving our company to Discovery Park.

“KB-OHS has experience in delivering services to a broad spectrum of industries, from ship repair to cake production and we believe that our new premises will help us to achieve our company goals.”
