Police have released an efit of a man who is suspected of assaulting a schoolgirl in Dover.

The incident happened at around 8.10am on October 9, where a 12-year-old girl and her friend visited a shop in Cherry Tree Avenue. They then left the shop and started walking down Barton Road.

As they walked, they heard shouting behind them which came from a man and two younger boys, one of which was in a school uniform.

One of the girls had dropped a canned drink, which had started to roll down the bank and into the river.

A man from the trio yelled at her to pick it up, before attempting to push her down the bank.

Afterwards he removed his shoes and socks and then retrieved the drink from the river before throwing it back at her, hitting her in the legs.

The man then walked off down Beaconsfield Avenue.

The girl continued on her way to school and informed the teachers.

The suspect is described as white, aged in his 30s, of slim build and approximately 5ft 7ins tall.

He had a bald head, possibly shaved, with stubble on his face. He was wearing a long-sleeved checked shirt, blue jeans and blue trainers with white stripes.
