Stabbing in Deal after police called to The Fairway followed by treatment at Tides leisure centre

Two men stabbed at a house last night have been rushed to hospital.

Police have launched an investigation following the incident in Deal shortly after 10.30pm.

The pair, who are said to be known to one another, were both taken to hospital with stab wounds, police said.

A spokesman said "an altercation" took place in The Fairway but neither of the men's injuries are said to be life-threatening.

Reports from residents said there was a large police and ambulance presence at the Tides leisure centre across town in Park Avenue.

There was also the air ambulance heard flying over the town.

One of the victims was taken by helicopter to hospital in London and both men are still in hospital today.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 10.36pm on 28 October 2017 to an altercation involving two men, at an address in the Fairway, Deal.

"The men were known to each other and both were taken to hospital with injuries consistent with being stabbed.

"None of the injuries are described as life threatening."

No arrests have been made by police at this stage.

The investigation is continuing today but officers have asked any witnesses to the alleged attack to come forward.
