A Dover woman who was previously employed by contractors working for the prison service has appeared in court charged with conspiring to supply drugs into a prison.
Carly Joanne Morris, 24, was among four people arrested on Tuesday by officers from Kent's Serious and Organised Crime Unit who have been investigating the alleged supply of drugs at Elmley prison on the Isle of Sheppey.
Morris, who used to work for SERCO but has now left her post, is also charged with conveying prohibited articles into the prison.
The other three people, who face the same two charges, are Darren Byrne, 20, who is serving at HMP Elmley, and Dino Gillet, 37, and Sahra Gillet, 35, both unemployed, of Canterbury Road, Westgate.
They all appearied before Medway Magistrates on Wednesday when Byrne and Dino Gillet were remanded in custody, and Morris and Sahra Gillet were released on bail.
They will all appear at Maidstone Crown Court on June 15.
