Two stars from the television series Britain's Got Talent were
among those who took part in the free open-air Dock Rock event at
Dover on Saturday, August 1.

Kieran Gaffney, 13, from Deal, who wowed everyone with his
Wipeout routine, was playing with his parents in Mixed Emotions
while Martin Matcham from Elvington performed a short set to show
off his now-famous lit-up guitar.

The event, at the Wellington Dock, Dover, was the biggest
yet.

The Dover-based LA Music Club opened the event alongside radio
presenter Steve Ladner who was there supporting his crew from the
Dover Lifeboat.

Thousands of people turned up to enjoy the chance to
dance the afternoon away with salsa from Los Salvadores
from Sittingbourne and some great covers from The Kingsdown
Band.

Dover band Fair Isle played a folk rock set followed by the
Electric Beatles.

During the afternoon the LA Music Club had their own stage where
any young musicians could go along and meet up.

Floyd in the Flesh were followed by local duo Defrenchy. Deal's
punk band The Submission and local band Hey Rudi also took part
together with User Friendly who have supported Dock Rock for
many years.

Last to appear was a five-piece rock band called Elbert
Felc from Faversham who played a mix of own material and
covers.

Profits from the day are being donated to Dover Lifeboat, Rhodes
Minnis Cat Sanctuary and St Martin's Emmaus
