Border Force officers at Dover have seized approximately 11 litres of amphetamine liquid with a potential street value of £680,000.

The stash was discovered when officers searched a Lithuanian lorry and its load of fibre boards. The amphetamine was found in a large water container in the vehicle’s cab.

Three-and-half kilos of cannabis - worth £37,000 on the street, was found in a plastic fuel can in one of the lorry’s lockers to.

The 44 year-old lorry driver from Lithuania appeared at Folkestone Magistrates Court on Monday, November 18, charged with the importation. He did not offer a plea and was remanded in custody. He will next appear at Canterbury Crown Court on December 9.

The case has been passed to the National Crime Agency for further investigation.
