The raft race, at 1.45pm, brings the real fun on the sea – and on the shore line for those watching the spectacle. The 750 metre challenge leaves Downs Sailing Club on The Strand, for Deal Pier at 2.15pm subject to tide. Entry is £10 per raft. For full rules, see the programme.

Beach Street will be cordoned off for the annual lorry pull. The 30 metre timed event always attracts crowds in their hundreds. It starts at 3.30pm with booking taking place from 2.30pm. Entry is £10 per team (seniors) and £5 junior teams.

The Trophy Shop Hop Scotch Championship will start opposite Deal Pier from 1pm with a competition for under-eights and under-11s.
