A fire at a derelict building in Deal is believed to have been started deliberately.

Two fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus put out the flames using hose reel jets and high-pressured fans.

The firefighters finished and left the scene just under an hour later.

While the building was damaged a Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman explained: “No injuries were reported, and it’s believed the fire was started deliberately. “
