Firefighters are battling a blaze close to a main road after several large conifer trees set alight.

Crews are tackling the fire near the A258 in Deal.

A spokesman for the fire service said: “The fire is generating significant amounts of smoke and falling embers which may be affecting nearby properties.

“Residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed and to call 999 if their property is affected.”
