A Deal barber is feeling on top of the world after winning the title of Britain’s Best Shave Master.

Enver ‘Efe’ Yesilbulut, of Kings Barbers Male Grooming in the High Street, beat off razor sharp competition from seven other finalists at the Barber UK Show, run in partnership with industry watchdogs British Barbers’ Association, on Sunday.

In three gruelling rounds in front of thousands of spectators at the Birmingham NEC he came out on top, scoring well for shave preparation, razor technique, post shave routine, health and safety and overall efficiency.

His prize was a belt to display in his shop as well as £500 worth of hair products and a professional video demonstrating his skills.

It is the second time Mr Yesilbulut has made the final round of the competition and it is his second title after securing Britain’s Best Barber, for hair cutting, in the same competition in 2016.

He said: “It feels amazing. The feeling still hasn’t sunk in. I really wanted to win but I told myself not to get nervous. I knew if I did that it would be game over.

“It’s the first time that one barber has won two belts in the competition.

Enver 'Efe' Yeshibulut new belt is in addition to Britain's Best Barber which he won in 2016 (2129096)

“This is my passion. I have to thank all my clients who allow me to do what I love every day. Without their continuous support it wouldn’t be possible.”

The winning moment was all the more special for the dad-of-two because his daughters, Hira, four, and one-year-old Eda, plus wife, Gulfer, were there to watch him.

He said: “When I got to the final round I asked if I could bring my daughters in to watch as you had to be 15 to come into the exhibition space. It felt good to have them there.”

Mr Yesilbulut, who also won Judge’s Gold Medal in a competition in Turkey last month, is now going for a hat-trick as he competes in The British Hair and Beauty Awards, next month.
