James Morgan rowed to success in Italy

Kent rowers James Morgan and Alistair McKean won gold medals for Great Britain at the Varese International Adaptive Regatta in Italy.

They were in the mixed four crew which came first in the final in 3mins 33.50secs, finishing ahead of Italy and the Netherlands.

Morgan, a former deal Rowing Club captain, qualified for the adaptive rowing team following surgery on a long-term ankle problem, said: “I really enjoyed my first Paralympic class race. Joining Morgan and McKean, who is a teacher at Canterbury High School, were Vicky Hansford and Naomi Riches.
