A crowdfunding campaign has been launched for a family whose home was destroyed by fire just days before Christmas.

Around 20 firefighters were called to Mill Road, Deal at around 10pm yesterday after a blaze ripped through a house.

The flames spread to the property's roof and took crews in three fire engines and a height vehicle to extinguish.

Luke Shaw, who has set up a donation page on GoFundMe, said: "Last night a local family lost their family home and would have lost everything, just before Christmas.

"Deal is full of amazing people who always pull together when anything like this happens, so let's all try and give them something to help them in their hour of need."
