A man has been arrested after a police chase in Deal yesterday.

Officers arrested a 29-year-old from Deal on suspicion of burglary, possession of drugs with intent to supply and possession of an offensive weapon, after a vehicle made off from them.

Police patrolling in London Road saw an MG suddenly drive away from their location just before 4pm.

They subsequently located it unattended in Mill Road.

Press officer Martin Very said: “Members of the public directed the police officers to an adjacent cemetery where the suspected driver was located and arrested.

“He remains in custody and the investigation is on-going.”
