Police have released an E-fit of a man they would like to speak to after he tried to entice a girl into his van.

The 10-year-old girl was walking along Coombe Valley Road, Dover, near the motorcycle shop, at around 1.30 pm on Saturday April 24, when a man driving a small white van pulled up and parked in front of her.

He got out and asked if she wanted to get in the van for money. The girl ran to her home address a short distance away and reported the incident to her family.

The man is described as white but with a well-tanned appearance, 6ft tall and of chubby build, 45 to 50 years old with white short hair, and was wearing a light green jacket, blue jeans, and spoke with a local accent.

Police believe this was an isolated incident and are advising parents to ensure their children are reminded of the advice given to them at school regarding strangers.

Anyone with information that will help to identify this man is asked to call DC Gemma Crouch on 01303 289415, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
