A man has been arrested by police in Dover on suspicion of kidnap.

The arrest took place in Mayfield Avenue on Saturday morning, March 12, and the man, aged 44, was transferred to Thames Valley for questioning by police there.

The previous night a police helicopter assisted officers involved in a search for the offender, in conjunction with Thames Valley police. Police said the kidnap did not happen in Kent.

It is understood the man had been missing from the Oxfordshire area, with his teenage daughter, since February 25.
