New art concept for Deal

A new art concept arrives in Deal on Saturday when members from SEAS launch their White Chair Gallery in the town centre.
The idea was the inspiration of Annie Spencer-Smith, a member of South East ArtistS who is a traditional black and white photographer.
She said: “Unlike a normal gallery this will be a ‘pop-up’ gallery. Artists from SEAS will arrive at an agreed location each carrying a piece of artwork and a white chair on which to display it. After a while the artists will take their work
and the chairs and move to another site.
“I am hoping that the simplicity and spontaneity of The White Chair Gallery will appeal to the public and provide a lot of fun for all involved.”
Depending on the weather, the first exhibition will start somewhere near the Union Road car park Saturday market close to the Landmark Centre, High Street.
