Homes in north Deal lose power

UK Power Networks has apologised for the loss of power to almost 500 homes in north Deal this morning.

Properties in Western Road, Prince Street, Beach Street, Ethelbert Road, Canute Road and College Road are among those affected.

Some experienced the issue for only five minutes while others were left without electricity for a couple of hours.

UK Power Networks was alerted

A spokesman said: “Electricity supplies were interrupted to 490 customers in the Ethelbert Road area of Deal at 11.18am today.

"The majority of supplies, 403, were restored just after 12.30pm.

"The final supplies were reconnected in stages between 1.18pm and 1.40pm.

"It was caused by a fault on our underground electricity network. We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused."

It comes after 453 homes in Worth and Sandwich lost power yesterday.

UK Power Networks explained the issue was due to a fault on overhead lines.
