The Orient Express train will return to Deal today for the first of two excursions this year.
Visitors to Deal travelling on the train from London Victoria will arrive at 1.15pm and have two hours free time in Deal, departing for the return trip at 3.45pm.
They will be greeted on the platform by local musicians The Barrett Brothers.
Deal station’s Platform 1 café owners, Nick and Andy Stevens, are making the most of the opportunity.
The brothers said: “Following the recent announcement of Deal receiving a full high-speed train service from January 2015 and the massive opportunities that will bring, a return visit to the town of this iconic train and the wonderful welcome local people always give to Orient Express visitors, can only add to creating the best of impressions of what the town has to offer.
“The retro style of our café is in keeping with the glorious era of luxury travel the train itself evokes.”
The second Orient Express ‘Discover Deal’ 2014 excursion is scheduled for Saturday, September 20.
