Two women accused of stabbing a DJ to death in a remote country lane have both chosen not to give evidence.

Alicia Davis and Charlotte Coulson, both 22, stabbed Michael Kerr, 30, in the chest and slashed his throat before dumping his body next to his car in Capel-Le-Ferne, the Old Bailey has heard.

They claim Mr Kerr tried to rape Coulson after she earlier offered to have sex with him for £20 to buy drink.

But the pair will not be giving evidence and Judge Paul Worsley warned the pair that the jurors could draw adverse inference from their decision not to take to the witness stand.

The victim lived with his grandparents at King's Ropewalk, Aycliffe, Dover.

Davis was sitting next to Mr Kerr in the front of his gold Renault Clio while Coulson sat behind at the time of the killing in the early hours of April 10.

The court heard the gaping wounds to the victim's throat were so severe the spine muscles at the back of the neck were damaged.

Mr Kerr, a former Harbour School pupil, was born with a chromosomal condition, Fragile Syndrome, which meant he had learning difficulties, spoke with a stammer and had a limp.

Davis, of Milner Crescent, Aylesham, and Coulson, of Clarendon Street, Dover, both deny murder.
