Magician's Nephew performance by Deal Parochial School will support Martha Trust

A musical adaption of the well loved C.S. Lewis book The Magician’s Nephew is to be performed by youngsters.

They are the Year 6 Class at Deal Parochial and they are due to take to the stage at St George’s Church today (Thursday), and tomorrow (Friday).

The script was especially written by John Wakeman and the musical score was by Joy Spencer with lyrics by Martin Hacker, Lucy and Graham Chisnell, Jon Fox and John Wakeman.

Funds will be raised by admission fees in aid of Martha Trust as part of their Music4Martha Appeal.

Musical director Joy Spencer said: “So many pupils, parents and members of our community work together to make this such a memorable occasion.

“The Year 6 class have been working extremely hard and we will be supported on stage by the Year 5 choir and the wonderful Parochial Band made up of ex-parents, ex-pupils and friends.”

The leading roles of Digory will be played by Kian Siadatan and Polly by Heidi Baxter, evil Queen Jadis by Kate Hodgson and Aslan by Joel Davenport.

The show today and tomorrow is at 7pm. Tickets £5 adults and £2 children with a special Community Performance on Friday at 1.30pm, admission is free but donations will be taken.
