Plans have been submitted for a new adventure golf course along Walmer seafront, similar to a popular attraction in Thanet .
Manston Golf Centre Ltd has applied to Dover District Council to convert the current vacant putting green along the promenade adjacent to Walmer Paddling Pool, into a 18-hole family friendly course.
The company already runs Rascal Bay in Manston Road, Ramsgate, where it charges adults £8.50 a game and also runs children's parties.
Although its design for the Walmer attraction carries a different theme.
It has references to the area's history including smugglers, fishing and both Walmer and Dover Castles.
There would also be a hole dedicated to Dover's Roman lighthouse and other wrecks plus a water fountain.
The plans also include the erection of a 12m by 6.5m entrance kiosk which would be made of white painted timber cladding and a felt roof.
If approved the new attraction would create three full-time and two part-time jobs.
Dover District Councillor Chris Vinson, who represents the Walmer ward, has praised the local features.
He said: "It's great to see they've incorporated so many references to Walmer and Deal's rich local history in their design.
“Our local tourist economy in Walmer and Deal is really important, employing many local residents.
"Investment to improve facilities for locals and visitors alike is very welcome.”
