Police are investigating an arson which has left a primary school teacher without a car after her Subaru Impreza was found in flames.
An arsonist has targeted the performance car in Hayward Close in Deal, on Wednesday night.
Kingsdown and Ringwould Primary School teacher Rose Cope was asleep in bed with her husband, Mick, when a car alarm woke them in the middle of the night.
“We woke up and looked out of the window wondering which car it was and then saw flames. We rushed down there and a neighbour had already called the police and fire brigade,” she said.
“It was heart breaking. We were powerless. All the neighbours had come out and they’ve continued to be very supportive.”
A police spokeswoman said: “Kent Police is investigating a report of arson where a car was set alight in Hayward Close, Deal, at around 10.50pm on August 20.
"Enquiries are ongoing.”
If you could help identity the arsonist, please call 101, referencing ZY/27621/14.
