Lordswood skipper Jeremy Greaves led his side’s recovery to scupper Sandwich Town’s hopes of a fifth Shepherd Neame Kent League Division 1 win of the season at The Butts on Saturday.
They looked on course to win as the Medway table-toppers, chasing 198 to win, slipped to 125-7 but Greaves made 63 off 76 balls, adding 52 for the eighth wicket with James Iles before becoming Jack Bradley’s fourth wicket of the innings.
He went with 21 needed but Iles scored an unbeaten 24 as the visitors got home with two wickets and three overs to spare.
David Draper (60) and David Scoggins (46) top scored for Sandwich after Greaves won the toss and put them in, scoring 197-9, former Kent off-spinner Darren Scott taking 3-40.
