Shoppers at Deal’s biggest supermarket on Saturday have a chance to help the poorest people in society by being generous at a special FareShare day.

Sainsbury’s in West Street is taking part in one-day nationwide food drive and staff are hoping lots of kind-hearted people will help the good cause.

Michelle Sartain from the supermarket said: "We will have a greeter at the front of the store handing out a ‘shopping list’ of what items can be donated and also have tinsel-decorated trolleys at the front checkouts where customers can donate their items.

"Shoppers will be asked to buy an extra item, which will then be delivered to local charities and community projects by the charity FareShare this Christmas."
