Actor Simon Gregory remembers 50 years of performing with self-penned show

Deal actor Simon Gregory will reveal backstage secrets of a career in TV and on theatre tours.

He has played in most of the main venues in Kent including Folkestone, Margate, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells during a career that spans 50 years.

His favourite was as the villain in successive pantomimes at The Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury.

Simon Gregory has been working as an actor for about 50 years. He's giving a performance at St Saviour's Church Walmer

He has worked with a variety of top actors, among them Richard Todd, Jon Pertwee, Wayne Sleep and Kathy Staff (Nora Batty in Last of the Summer Wine).

He also appeared with Noel Edmunds in his chaotic celebrity Gotchas on the popular House Party show.

Simon’s latest show, Shouting in the Evenings, is to be presented at St Saviour’s Church, Walmer, at 7pm on Friday, September 8.

He has a host of tales to tell of performing in live theatre. He will also relate the fun, frolics and even danger of backstage life on tours, television, repertory and repertoire.

He is assisted by pianist Neil Wright, so the audience can expect a sprinkling of songs and sketches during this lively one-hour show.

This performance is in aid of Friends of Walmer Parish Churches.
