Southern Water has apologised to its customers in Deal and Sandwich for the current issues surrounding water supply.

Households in both towns are experiencing issues with poor pressure and loss of supply.

Yesterday (Sunday), the water provider received around 90 calls from customers in Great Mongeham, Betteshanger, Ripple and Northbourne.

The issues at the works have been fixed and water supply has been restored to the majority of homes. However, about 20 properties on the highest points of the network are still without water today due to an airlock in the system.

A spokesman said: "Engineers have been working round the clock to clear this.

"In the meantime, bottled water has been supplied to affected customers and they are receiving regular updates from us. We’d like to assure customers we’re doing all we can to restore water supplies as quickly as possible.

“Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience.”
