Police

Police are appealing for witnesses to a vicious attack on a teenage girl in Dover which left her unconscious.

It happened between 3.15 and 3.45pm on Monday, December 6 as the 14-year-old girl was walking home from school.

Police say she was walking with two friends down Astor Avenue when they saw a large group of girls who followed them down towards Tower Hamlets.

The group caught up with the schoolgirls, and the 14-year-old was pushed, slapped and then pulled to the ground where she was kicked in the head by two girls.

It is believed she lost consciousness, and was helped by a passer-by.

The girl was taken to the William Harvey Hospital where she was treated for bruising to her body and head.

Police want to speak to anyone who has information about the incident, in particular the passer by who assisted the girl.

Witnesses are asked to contact the police on 01622 690690, and quote crime number FY/19292/10, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
