The family of the woman who died in a car crash near Dover have paid tribute to a girl who was “always joking and laughing”. Emma Willis, 23, of Larch Road, Elvington, died after the blue Vauxhall Corsa she was travelling in overturned near Dover early on Saturday morning.
A huge Second World War bunker has been unearthed by contractors working on the new Dover hospital site. The discovery, along with some deeply-buried asbestos, means a two-month delay to the completion of the new hospital in Coombe Valley Road.
A heartfelt video plea by a mum whose son died in a car crash has just been released in a bid to warn drivers to take care on the roads. Brave mother Emma Hibbert faced the cameras to make the 3min 38sec film and at one point broke down in tears as she talked about 17-year-old Josh.
A countryside community is up in arms in protest at a spate of shooting sessions in fields around homes in Tilmanstone. The blame has been aimed at visitors from France who apparently travel across the Channel regularly to shoot, gut and pack pigeons to take back home to sell. A young horse rider was flown by air ambulance to hospital after being injured falling when the animal was apparently startled by sudden loud firing.
