Deal hosted the Kent County Parade and church service at St George's Church, High Street, Deal.

The parade heads the Deal town centre

Representatives from service organisations took part in this year’s treble Kent county parade and service yesterday, in this, the centenary year of the start of the First World War.

The 2014 rededication event, organised locally by the Royal British Legion Downs Branch, started with a service at St George’s Church, in Deal High Street.

High Sheriff Hugo Fenwick addressed the congregation at the service marking the centenary of the start of the First World War.

After the service, given by the Rev John Lines MBE, the parade of standards processed from the church along High Street to the seafront and back to the church.

Members of the Royal British Legion Downs Branch and standard bearers from ex-service organisations took part the Kent county parade

Standard bearers from ex-service organisations from across the county took part. British Legion members from across Kent also attended.
