A sixth form student at Dover Grammar School is hoping to be featured in stores up and down the country after getting through to the final three in a natural beauty competition.
Florence Colgate, 18, of Bowling Green Lane, Deal, was among more than 8,000 people who entered for the competition on the ITV programme Lorraine, introduced by Lorraine Kelly. The aim is to find the most naturally beautiful people in the country.
The title of the competition, Lorraine:naked, has nothing to do with taking their clothes off, it highlights beauty without make-up or botox and definitely no cosmetic surgery.
"We are not saying that make-up is a bad thing, but we are encouraging the natural look," said Lorraine. "We want people to be proud of their natural features without the need to enhance them. This is all about the face, so it doesn’t matter what size or height the finalists are."
The judges have chosen three finalists in the 18 to 40 age category and three from the age 41 and above, who have a good personality and are 100% natural.
"I saw the competition on television and decided to go in for it," said Florence, who is a former pupil at Warden House School in Deal.
"I hope as many people as possible will vote for me, so that I have a chance of winning."
She is due to appear on the programme on Monday or Tuesday morning, from 8.30am, and on Wednesday the public voting will begin.
The top prize is an all expenses paid trip to a modelling shoot in London, to appear on posters in Superdrug stores across the country, and to feature in the shop’s in-store magazine Dare.
People can vote via the Lorraine:naked website.
