A German woman has died five days after she was critically injured in a crash on the A20 at Aycliffe, near Dover.
The 41-year-old was a passenger in blue Volkswagen Golf in collision with a white Ford Transit van at 7.30am on Friday, August 3, on the coastbound carriage way.
She was airlifted to the major trauma unit at the Royal London Hospital with injuries to her head, chest, stomach, pelvis and limbs. She died yesterday (Wednesday, August 8).
Three other people in the VW received minor injuries, including an 18-year-old boy who was treated at the William Harvey Hospital, Ashford, and released the same day.
A 48-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving that Friday and released on bail until October 12, pending further inquiries.
Kent Police’s Serious Collision Unit is continuing to investigate the collision and witnesses or anyone with information are urged to contact officers on 01622 798538.
