Women admit Post Office robbery

Two women have appeared in court charged in connection with a robbery at a post office in Dover.

Police were called to Crabble Post Office in Buckland Avenue, Dover, on Saturday afternoon, September 26. They made two arrests and recovered a cash register taken in the incident.

Two women entered the post office at 4 pm and forced a member of staff to give them money from the till. One of the women was armed with a knife, which has since been seized by police.

Katy Pritchard, 18, of London Road, Dover, was arrested on Sunday afternoon and charged with robbery.

Laura Maxwell, 29, of Sandown Close, Deal was arrested on Sunday evening and charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon, a kitchen knife.

The two women appeared at Folkestone Magistrates' Court on Monday and admitted the offences. They were released on conditional bail to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday October 12.
