Fire crews called as flames break out of bin at Tides Leisure Centre in Deal

Fire crews were called to tackle flames in a large recycling bin in the car park of a swimming pool.

She said: "Our wonderful fire service was there in minutes."

A spokesman said: "Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a wheelie bin alight in Victoria Park in Deal at around 4.51am. One fire engine was sent to the scene and crews used hydraulic cutting gear to gain access to the fire, before extinguishing the flames.

"The cause is not known. No casualties were reported."
