Dover manager Andy Hessenthaler was delighted to complete the capture of goalkeeper Ross Flitney this week.
Flitney has moved to Crabble from Croydon Athletic and has signed a deal until the end of next season.
Hessenthaler said: "People might raise their eyebrows at the fact I have signed another keeper but I’ve always said that if anyone becomes available who I think can improve our squad, then I will try to sign him. Ross comes into that category.
"I have been watching him for a while and he will give us something different. He’s 6ft 3in, he kicks the ball a mile and he only plays football and trains every day at Crystal Palace, which is a huge plus factor."
Hook was replaced by John Whitehouse midway through the second half against Havant after picking up a groin strain and Hessenthaler added: "We now have three keepers on the books and perhaps we won’t be able to carry all of them, so one may have to go."
Hessenthaler is still looking to sign another centre-half after a potential deal fell through last week but Nicky Southall and Matt Fish both produced solid displays as emergency centre-backs at the weekend.
