A disabled driver is appealing for people to think twice before parking illegally in areas marked for Blue Badge holders in Deal town centre.

The call follows a disagreement in Park Street when Anthony Adams, 58, who suffers from a spinal injury, found a truck unloading in part of Park Street marked for disabled drivers.

He said: "I have seen this happen too often in Deal and I actually got abuse from the delivery lorry driver in the disabled parking bays.

"I didn't ask to be disabled. Apart from a spinal injury I suffer from Meniere's disease, so I have a blue badge so I can park in the special areas.

"Obviously this lorry driver did not have a conscience and his abuse to me was totally uncalled for when I pointed out he was in a disabled parking place."

Mr Andrews, of The Street, Sholden, was in Deal shopping with his wife Sharon and intended to leave his car in Park Street.
