An urgent appeal has been made by a Deal dad whose car was stolen in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).
Karl Foster, of Sydcot Drive, woke in the morning to discover that a window had been smashed at the back of the house and both sets of keys to his Audi A5 were taken.
His car which had been parked outside was also gone.
Mr Foster, 23, who lives with his partner Ella Walters, 18, and their child Rory who is 16-months-old, said it must have happened between 1am and 6am when the young family were asleep upstairs.
The self-employed painter and decorator, who is now a stay-at-home dad, said: “I didn’t hear anything and neither did the neighbours. It’s likely to have been sold or burnt out by now, as it’s worth a lot of money.”
The white Audi, which Mr Foster bought just three months ago is worth more than £15,000 and was parked opposite his house.
The state-of-the-art vehicle has a GPS system inside and Mr Foster hopes that this can be traced to try and track it down and recover it.
Inside the car there were also baby clothes, and a pair of designer sunglasses.
This is the first time anything like this has happened to the family and the incident has left Mr Foster and his partner, who works as a carer, completely shaken.
He said: “She’s very upset that someone broke in with our boy in bed. It’s worried her a lot.”
Police visited the property on Tuesday morning to begin investigations.
Martin Very, Kent Police press officer said: “Kent Police is investigating a report of a burglary at Sydcot Drive, Deal, overnight. “Car keys and an Audi A5 parked outside the address were reportedly stolen.”
