Danny Smith aged 20 of Ardent Avenue, Deal, was due to appear before magistrates in Folkestone today (Monday) after he was charged with robbery at the BetterBet betting shop in Deal.

A police spokesman said: "The robbery is alleged to have taken place just after 6pm on Saturday."

The shop, close to the traffic lights in the High Street, is part of the Betterbet company which was launched in 2005 and now has 25 shops in London and the South-East.
