A 27-year-old man has been arrested after reports up to 35 cars were damaged.
The man who has no fixed address was taken into custody yesterday afternoon, where he remains.
He was also arrested on suspicion of burglary after officers from Dover Community Policing Team (CPT) were called to commercial premises in the town's Beach Street.
It was reported a door at the property had been damaged and cigarettes were stolen.
The alleged incidents are believed to have taken place overnight on Monday and again overnight on Wednesday, this week.
All reports suggested the paintwork of the cars had been scratched.
Sergeant Simon Drew from Dover CPT said: "We have carried out inquiries around the streets where we believe the cars have been damaged to identify further victims.
"Thank you to all who have spoken to our officers.
"I would urge anyone whose car has been damaged and not yet reported it to contact us as soon as they can, on 01843 222289 quoting 13-022."
