Ben May made it six goals in as many games with the winner as Dover Athletic continued their impressive away record in Blue Square Bet South with a battling 1-0 victory at Basingstoke on Saturday.
Dover made it 14 points from a possible 18 in their six league games on the road this season and bounced back from defeat at home to Salisbury the previous weekend, climbing to seventh in the table.
Chris Sessegnon and Ricky Modeste were brought in by boss Nicky Forster (pictured) and it took just three minutes for May to score the only goal, poking home after a free-kick from Daryl McMahon was not cleared.
Billy Bricknell was denied by the home keeper Ashley Bayes soon after before Mitch Walker needed to make a series of saves to keep the hosts at bay, with Tim Sills somehow firing over from after Walker had dropped a cross.
Bayes denied Bricknell on the break, while Walker thwarted Shaun MacAuley and Delano Sam-Yorke at the other end.
After the break, Sills fired wide and Walker foiled Jay Gasson's header, while at the other end, Bayes kept out a header from the same player which would have made it 2-0.
Sam-Yorke had the final chance late on but he was denied once again by Walker.
