Betteshanger have fought their way through the National Finals of the ECB Indoor Six-a-side Club Championship at Lord’s on March 14.
They booked their place by winning the South Eastern Regional Finals at Canterbury on Sunday.
In the semi-finals Bettes cruised past Fives and Heronians from Essex. Andy McNicholas claimed 3-16 as Fives and Heronians were restricted to 76.
Martin Cheesman and Liam Collins opened the innings for Betteshanger and they ran well, scoring 25 and 26 not out respectively to set up a comfortable victory.
Betteshanger’s opponents in the final were Harrow St Mary’s from Middlesex.
Cheesman and Collins again got Bettes off to a solid start, adding 52 before Collins holed out at mid-on for 17.
Cheesman then retired with an error-free 25. Andy McNicholas also retired with 25 and evergreen Derek Towe added a few before he was run out after 59 had been added for the second wicket.
Joffy Towe finished with 24 not out and McNicholas with 28 not out as Betteshanger’s innings closed on 127-4.
Needing to score at over 10-an-over Harrow’s batsmen had to take chances, but the Betteshanger fielding was top drawer and after three overs the Middlesex team were on the rack at 19-3 with all three wickets run out.
Betteshanger’s bowling was extremely tight and the batting side could not afford to take chances and failed to find the boundary. Harrow’s innings closed on 61-4 as Bettes secured an exciting trip to the home of cricket.
