It was a dream come true for Sophie Humphrey when she opened her first salon Black Diamondz last January – and one year on she’s still smiling.
To thank her customers as well as to celebrate the salon’s first anniversary, Miss Humphrey and her team are hosting a pamper evening tonight (Saturday, January 24) from 6pm, with drinks and nibbles.
Miss Humphrey said: “Everyone is welcome, both old and new customers.”
She added: “We’ve had a really successful year in trading. We’re a little Black Diamondz family.
“Our clients often comment saying we offer a high level of service in a relaxed and laid back environment for a reasonable price.
“We’re passionate about what we do and we just want to keep improving.”
The salon in Stanhope Road already offers an array of hair and beauty treatments including HD brows and aesthetic clinics but as it moves into its second year of business, Miss Humphrey has big plans to offer more.
From next week, up-and-coming stylist Daisy Gibb will be offering new weft hair extensions; and from March, Jurgita Bulpitt will be offering Russian volume lashes, where up to six lash extensions can be applied to each natural eyelash.
Miss Humphrey said: “We will pride ourselves on being the only salon in Deal offering Russian volume lashes. It take a super experienced lash technician to do it. It’s Jurgita’s specialism.”
And to top it all off, the salon will be expanding.
“We’re expanding to create more space for the extended list of treatments we’ll be offering this year,” Miss Humphrey said.
“We’d like to thank all our loyal customers as well as our neighbour and friend June Martin who has supported us and Jodie Lingard, who has helped us with our advertising and website.”
Other first anniversary salon deals include £15 haircuts on Mondays by Miss Humphrey, who has 15 years’ of experience, and combined Shellac manicure and pedicure for £25, by nail technician Georgia Gurney.
