POLICE are appealing for help to trace a man captured on CCTV who is wanted for questioning after a blind woman had her handbag stolen at a Kent railway station.
The 41-year-old victim was sitting in the booking office at Deal station on May 31 at about 12.15pm when she decided to go outside and wait for her train. She accidentally left the bag on the bench.
The woman realised after about one minute what she had done but when she returned the bag had been taken..
PC Ian Wilson, of the British Transportt Police, said: "This was particularly upsetting for the victim, as she is registered blind and had just withdrawn a substantial sum of money to pay for some repairs to her home.
"Police have scanned CCTV images and identified a male was believe has information about the theft."
The man, thought to be aged between 28 and 30, had with cropped ginger/grey hair, and is about 5ft 10in tall. He was wearing a grey top and dark coloured bottoms.
